What is a Kundli?
A map of the sky at the moment you were born.
A Kundli (Janam Kundli or birth chart) is a snapshot of where the nine Grahas stood in the sky at the exact moment and place of your birth.
The sky is divided into 12 Rashis (signs). The chart then divides your life into 12 Bhavas (houses) — self, wealth, home, career, marriage and so on.
Which Graha sits in which Bhava, and in which Rashi, is what an astrologer reads. That is why your birth time and birthplace matter: a few minutes can change the Lagna and every house after it.
A Kundli describes tendencies and timing. It is a tool for reflection — your choices still shape your life.
