Numerology Calculator
Your destiny, soul and personality numbers from name and birth date.
How is a numerology number calculated from a name and date of birth?
Numerology reduces a name and a birth date to single digits. The destiny (or life path) number comes from adding the digits of the full date of birth until one digit remains; the personality, soul and character numbers come from mapping the letters of the name you actually use to numbers and reducing those sums the same way. It needs no birth time and no birth place, which is why numerology results and astrological results are separate systems that do not validate each other.
Numerology is a separate tradition from Vedic astrology, not a part of it. Nothing here is a prediction, and no number is described as lucky or unlucky.
Numerology reduces your name and date of birth to a small set of numbers, each describing a different layer — what drives you, how you come across, and what you keep returning to.

What these numbers are
The commonly used set is the destiny number from the date of birth, the psychic or personality number from the birth day, and name-derived numbers for the soul, attitude and character. Each is a single digit, or occasionally a master number that some schools leave unreduced.
Different schools — Chaldean, Pythagorean, Vedic numerology — assign letters to numbers differently, so the same name can reduce differently elsewhere. That is a difference of system, not an error.
How the calculation works
For the date-based numbers, every digit of the date is summed and the total reduced to one digit. For the name-based numbers, each letter takes its value from the mapping table, vowels and consonants are separated where a school requires it, and each sum is reduced. Because the name you are called by is what is used, a changed or shortened name changes the result — which tells you plainly that this is a symbolic system rather than an astronomical one.
What the numbers mean
In numerological tradition each digit carries associated qualities, commonly interpreted as a tendency of temperament and approach. Practitioners use them the way one uses a personality frame: as a prompt for reflection.
A number is not sufficient to conclude anything about your prospects, and we do not use it to make claims about health, money or relationships. Where you want chart-based timing, that lives in the Kundli and Dasha tools, which use entirely different inputs.
Common misconceptions
“A number can be unlucky and must be corrected by changing my name spelling.”
We do not describe any number as unlucky and do not sell name corrections. Changing a spelling changes an arithmetic result, nothing more.
“Numerology confirms what my Kundli says.”
They are independent systems with different inputs. Agreement between them is coincidence, not corroboration, and we will not present it as proof.
Frequently asked questions
What is a destiny number?+
Your destiny (or life path) number is derived from your full date of birth. It describes the broad direction your life keeps returning to, whatever else changes.
Do I need my birth time for numerology?+
No. Numerology works from your name and date of birth only, which is why this tool is quicker than a Kundli reading.
Which name should I enter?+
Use the name you are called by every day, spelled the way you normally write it. That is the name numerology treats as active.
What is a master number?+
Numbers like 11, 22 and 33 are called master numbers. They are not reduced to a single digit because tradition treats them as carrying extra intensity.
Is numerology the same as astrology?+
No. Astrology reads planetary positions at your birth; numerology reads numbers from your name and date. Many people use both as complementary lenses.
